Greetings and salutations from the Desk of Tom Miller. SO MUCH NEW! I hope you will join me in the extreme areas of art, music and theatre and I hope you will continue to support keeping Gainesville weird and wonderful. There are many ways to do this. Money. Always. But also, how about you make a commitment to go see a live band somewhere? Perform something at an open mic. See a play you've never seen somewhere you've never been? Make your own movie? Your own songs? Form a band? Write something about the scene? Try something new? Expand your horizons, test your limits? Get out into nature? Take a break from devices and online games? Meditate and take time for your inner self? Skip that cup of coffee at Starbuck's and give that five dollars to an artist or performer or writer or painter or musician of your choosing.
This is my challenge to you. Break patterns, interrupt the system, journey inward by journeying outward. Get from art by giving to it. Do something embarrassing and enjoy the results. Help the world to end all stupidity. Re-see the love inside the conventions, and act on that love. Imagine something new. Make something new. See and hear something new. BE something new.
