PROJECT COPENHAGEN -
A PERFORMANCE ART PIECE
by TOM MILLER
ITEM:
Tom Miller scores "Impossible Reservations" at one of the world's greatest restaurant, NOMA and begins performance art piece inviting friends and fans to "...please buy me a reasonable dinner in a small town for my 50th Birthday."
But 'reasonable dinner' is a restaurant called Noma, for several past years voted the Best Restaurant in the World by the San Pellegrino organization. The head chef, Rene Redzepi (whom Tom intends on meeting) was listed as one of Time Magazine's most influential 100 people in the world. The 'small town' is Copenhagen on the other side of the planet. Miller hopes to demonstrate that all dreams are possible '...with a little help from your friends.' He is campaigning for Chef Rene Redzepi's philosophy of "...capturing a moment in time and a sense of place." Miller is championing Chef Rene's forward-thinking sustainable farm-to-plate and local foraging sensibilities. And lastly, Miller is in full support of reducing our animal protein intake by 10% and replacing it with food from the 'third kingdom', insects!
"Chef Rene points out that people seem reluctant and disgusted about the idea of eating insects in the West, and yet we absolutely adore the vomit of bees (honey). They have ants that taste like lemons over there, and lemons don't grow in Copenhagen, so Chef Redzepi occasionally will toss a few ants on the plate."
MILLER IS NEARING 50% PERCENT OF HIS FINANCIAL GOAL with contributors by fans and friends, selling everything he owns (he recently sold his Mac computer and will no longer be able to make home recordings--Miller is one of Gainesville's most prolific musicians with over fifty full-length solo albums to his credit--he's selling albums, paintings, and hosting fund-raisers at his long lived Tom Miller Show (the longest continuous live running variety show in the United States).
Miller will be raising $5,000 to cover the cost of travel, air-fare, and the rather expensive meal price for this two-Michelin-star world famous restaurant.
"When I have eaten at Noma, met Chef Redzepi, and I am sitting on the ferris wheel in Tivoli Gardens looking up at the moon, everyone whom I know will also know that peace is possible in our time if we all work together. God bless Yoko Ono." - Tom Miller

Miller's dinner reservation is confirmed at Noma for September 29th, 2015. He has already raised enough money for passport & airfare. He'll be staying in a private beach house off the coast of Sweden, a town in which two years ago, Miller accidentally temporarily destroyed Scandinavian television with his Internet series, "The Asshole Chef."
Tom Miller is a wikipedia-listed American Performance Artist known for many avant-garde performances including The Naked Press Conference, a 16-hour live reading of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood, a marathon viewing of Twin Peaks to raise awareness of Transcendental Meditation, and a musician who has played in well-known Gainesville bands including The Bill Perry Orchestra, The Screaming Helens, Plastic Age, NDolphin, The Space Masons, The Chuck Martin Genius Boy Band, the Righteous Kind, and Vini and the Demons.
