On Thursday, March 15 of 2012 at 8:30pm, Performance Artist Tom Miller will conduct a two-hour meditation demonstration during Action Research Show #83 at DISPLAY (439 S. Main Street). This show features diverse talents with unique and challenging music/electronica/noise and an enthusiastic crowd. Miller will demonstrate that meditation is good for the self, good for the world, and can be achieved even under adverse or non-conducive circumstances.
"I hope to show during this two hour demonstration that one can go within at any time to dip their feet in the waters of unified unlimited potential," says Miller.

TOM MILLER:
Tom Miller (born October 5, 1965 in Hialeah, Florida) is an American writer, artist, musician, and performance artist.
Beginning a career in Gainesville, Florida in 1984, his eclectic songs and performance elicit both laughter and shock from his audiences.
Notably, Miller performed in the bands Middle Earth, Plastic Age, The Screaming Helens, The Bill Perry Orchestra, Penguin, NDolphin, The Space Masons, and Chicago's Vini and the Demons as the bass player.
He is a published author of 45 Chapbooks, and has over 50 "AudioArt" CDs to his credit. He is the director of more than 75 independent VideoFilms.
Miller is also known for notorious stunts including Gainesville's First Naked Press Conference, a 17 hour marathon reading of Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood", Hosting a decade of Gainesville's Hemp Fests, Painting portraits of Chief of Police Wayland Clifton as Elvis, and his frequent UFO Secrecy Protests.
Miller's paintings hang in various homes throughout the world. Miller has painted portraits of two Gainesville mayors, three local newspaper editors, a drag queen, a police chief, nine city commissioners, a hemp activist, Ken & Linda McGurn, Billy Shields, Mary Hausch of the Hippodrome, and over 25 buttprints, to name a few. Miller's "Pepper Painting" will be a feature prize in the upcoming Alachua Conservation Trust 2012 Chili Cook-off.
The Tom Miller Show has been a staple of avant-garde entertainment in Gainesville, Florida for over 20 years, from 1984 to the present day. Mr. Miller has received significant press coverage for his many writings, artworks, performances, and activism in Gainesville, Florida over the last two decades.
He continues touring with live performance art shows, poetry readings, videography, and currently performs in the 60s style musical group, The Righteous Kind and The Lousy Monkees.
